A hearty welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Swami Vivekananda School of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar. The department vision is to be excellence in value based on Engineering Education.

Mechanical engineering is a challenging, rewarding, and highly respected profession. We support this discipline through a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and service missions. Our faculty are highly accomplished and many of them are renowned in their specific fields of specialty. The department has strong interaction with all nearby Industries and Institutes which provides additional enriched learning.
We greatly value diversity within the department, society and strive to promote, enhance, and create a totally inclusive and caring environment for all of our constituents. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are each exemplary in their own respect. The unique mix of service and academic excellence means our students are exceedingly in demand, and industry offer tremendous recruitment opportunities on campus. Although we are diversifying our approaches in response to the recent pandemic, our mission and goals have not changed. We are offering our students online learning experiences and are committed to providing our students the best educational environment possible. The department encourages students to take part in various competitions.
